- Entries must not have been published elsewhere, including on blogs and on social media. Submission for assessment as part of creative writing courses is not publication as long as the work has not appeared publicly and wherever it has appeared it is password protected.
- Refunds will not be possible.
- You may not edit your entry after submission.
- Copyright in the entry must reside solely with the entrant and the entry must not infringe on anyone else’s copyright. The entry must not be defamatory, and must be entirely a work of fiction. Entries must not be obscene, libellous, or unlawful.
- The prize money includes any fees to be paid as part of publication on Letter Review.
- The author’s name, and biography may be used in marketing and publicity materials and announcements, publications and communications relating to the Prize winners.
- The prize money must be taken by the winner within 3 months of request of invoice, or the money is forfeited.
- Letter Review is not currently resourced to provide feedback on entries.
- In the unlikely event that an element of the prize is cancelled, postponed or not available, that element of the prize will be considered as forfeited and no alternative offer will be granted in lieu of the part of the prize.
- Results of the Prize can be expected within 3 months of the closing date.
- The three winning stories will be published at letterreview.com. Copyright in / ownership of all stories remains with the authors (you). The winning entrants grant Letter Review an exclusive licence to publish their stories online at Letter Review for three months from the date of first publication (we will be the first publisher of your story and only publisher for three months), and thereafter a non-exclusive licence indefinitely to publish these stories (then we may publish your story on our site but you may publish elsewhere). If your story is published elsewhere after winning our Prize, we ask that you acknowledge in that publication that your story was first published with Letter Review.
